Jordan Derrick, a 40-year-old resident of Sweet Springs, Missouri, is facing serious federal charges for allegedly posting instructional videos online on how to make explosives. Prosecutors claim that Derrick's videos were used by several individuals, including Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who drove a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, resulting in at least 14 deaths and numerous injuries. Jabbar had planted explosives in ice coolers prior to the attack, which were consistent with the materials shown in Derrick's videos. Another individual, Stanley Box, attempted to create a large firework in Odessa, Texas, which led to an explosion in an apartment. Derrick is charged with manufacturing explosive materials without a license, unlawful possession of an unregistered destructive device, and distributing information related to explosives.
