Preston Edmead, a guard who transferred from Hofstra University, has committed to North Carolina State University (NC State). Last season, Edmead averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while helping Hofstra become a popular pick for NCAA Tournament upsets. Although Hofstra fell to Alabama, Edmead showcased his ability to compete against top-tier teams. He joins former Santa Clara point guard Christian Hammond, who averaged 15.6 points and started all 34 games for the Broncos last season, as part of NC State's new roster. The NCAA Transfer Portal opened on April 7 and will remain open until April 21, allowing athletes to explore new opportunities without a commitment deadline. Both players will be part of the Wolfpack's new regime under first-year head coach Justin Gainey, who previously served as an associate head coach at Tennessee.
