A blast in a steel factory located in Bishanpura village, near Doraha in Ludhiana district, Punjab, India, resulted in injuries to seven women on Saturday, with two in critical condition. The explosion created panic as thick smoke filled the sky, and the fire spread rapidly, complicating evacuation efforts for workers. Over 50 fire tenders were deployed to combat the blaze while Inspector Akash Dutt confirmed that the cause of the explosion is still unknown. Local MLA Manwinder Singh Giaspura visited the site and promised strict action if any negligence is identified. The injured women, including Meena and Anjali, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Authorities plan to conduct a thorough investigation once the fire is under control to determine the cause and assign responsibility.
