The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has canceled its entrance exam for 2026 at the MD Indraprastha Senior Secondary School in Begumpur, northwest Delhi, following a chaotic situation where candidates allegedly broke into the strong-room where question papers were kept. The cancellation was attributed to a law-and-order issue after candidates expressed frustration over significant delays in the distribution of exam materials. FTII director Dhiraj Singh confirmed that the exam was called off due to the disruption caused by around 300 students, who reported issues starting from biometric verification to seating arrangements. Students claimed that the delays were exacerbated by a lack of coordination among staff, leading to an emergency meeting and the decision to cancel the exam. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the disruption, and FTII plans to inform candidates about the rescheduling of the exam soon.
