ixigo, an online travel platform, has launched a revamped app featuring TARA, a multimodal AI assistant designed to revolutionize trip planning. Users can interact with TARA through voice, text, or taps, allowing for a more intuitive experience that eliminates the need for traditional booking screens. TARA supports English, Hindi, and Hinglish, with plans for additional languages. The assistant can provide personalized travel suggestions based on user preferences and past behavior, such as recommending hotels with specific amenities or creating multi-city travel itineraries through conversational prompts.

The app also includes a Trip Mode that consolidates travel details, such as boarding passes and real-time alerts, into a single dashboard. TARA can monitor flights for delays and cancellations and send boarding passes directly via WhatsApp, ensuring users stay informed throughout their journey.
