Himachal Pradesh is experiencing a heatwave, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for Una, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi districts on April 26. Una recorded the highest temperature in the state at 42.2°C, significantly above normal. Other areas also reported elevated temperatures, including Kangra at 36.1°C and Mandi at 35.1°C. The weather office indicated that heatwave conditions were noted in several locations, including Bhuntar and Dharamshala. While dry weather is expected on April 27, light rain is anticipated in the middle hills, with showers likely across the state from April 28 to 30, including light precipitation in high hills on May 1. The IMD has stated that no significant changes in temperature are expected over the next few days, although a gradual decrease of 2–3 degrees is anticipated thereafter.
