On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Gir Somnath district, Gujarat, in anticipation of the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav. This event commemorates 75 years since the inauguration of the restored Somnath temple, a significant site dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. Thousands of supporters gathered along the 1.5-km route, waving flags and cheering as Modi's convoy passed. Artists from various states, including West Bengal, showcased traditional dances during the roadshow. Modi, who arrived in Jamnagar the previous night, is set to perform rituals such as 'Abhishek', 'Dhwaj Pooja', and 'Maha Pooja' at the temple. The ceremonies will also feature flower petals showered from helicopters. Following the rituals, the prime minister will address a public gathering at Sadbhavana Ground, emphasizing the cultural significance of the Somnath temple in India's heritage.
