Evanston, Illinois, is set to open its public swimming beaches this Saturday, welcoming residents and visitors until Labor Day. Residents of Evanston can acquire free season beach passes by providing proof of residency in ZIP codes 60201 or 60202 at various community centers. Non-residents are required to purchase daily tickets, priced at $10 for Skokie residents and $12 for non-Skokie residents, with proof of residency necessary for discounted rates. Additionally, families living outside Evanston but having students enrolled in District 65 or Evanston Township High School can also obtain free beach passes.

Daily admission tickets will be available at beach entrances, and season passes can be purchased at community centers or the Dempster Street Beach office starting May 9. The city will also offer watercraft rentals, including sailboats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, beginning June 1. Safety measures at the beaches will include swim warning flags, free life jackets, and life rings along the lakefront to ensure a safe environment for all beachgoers.
