Director Jeff Fowler announced the completion of production for 'Sonic 4' on social media, expressing excitement for the film's release on March 19, 2027. The announcement featured a photo of Fowler with Metal Sonic, a character introduced at the end of 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3'. The upcoming film will see the return of several voice actors, including Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Kristen Bell as Amy Rose, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow. The film's cast also includes live-action actors Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Tika Sumpter. Producers Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Toru Nakahara are back for this installment. Following the success of 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3', which grossed over $490 million worldwide, the franchise continues to thrive, with an additional untitled film planned for late 2028. The Sonic franchise, which began with the first film's release in February 2020, has also expanded into a Paramount+ series featuring Knuckles.
