As TVK chief Thalapathy Vijay continues to dominate headlines following his strong performance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, attention has also shifted to his personal life. A detail about his son, Jason Sanjay, has caught the internet’s eye. Jason currently does not follow Vijay on Instagram. However, it is not confirmed whether he had followed him earlier or never did. His account shows that he follows only 38 people, while Vijay himself does not follow anyone on the platform. The observation has come at a time when reports about Vijay’s marriage have resurfaced. Vijay married Sangeetha Sornalingam in 1999, in what began as a fan-meets-star story. Sangeetha, a Sri Lankan Tamil based in the UK, met Vijay after watching one of his films, and their relationship developed with family involvement before they tied the knot. Over the years, the couple maintained a private life, rarely appearing together in public despite Vijay’s massive stardom. They have two children — Jason Sanjay and daughter Divya Saasha — both of whom have largely stayed away from the spotlight. Jason has chosen filmmaking as a career path, while Divya has focused on her education. In February 2026, reports did the rounds that Sangeetha had filed for divorce after more than two decades of marriage. The case was filed in the Chengalpattu family court. According to reports, she stated that she came to know in April 2021 about an alleged extramarital relationship involving Vijay, which caused “deep emotional pain and mental suffering.” The plea is said to mention issues like infidelity, mental cruelty, and loss of trust, along with a request for residence and financial support. Neither Vijay nor Sangeetha has publicly commented on the matter, and the case remains part of ongoing legal proceedings. Meanwhile, all eyes are now on post-poll negotiations that could determine the state’s next government. According to a report in The Indian Express, TVK has opened discussions with the Congress and smaller regional players to secure the numbers required to form a government.
