Gulveer Singh, a 27-year-old Indian distance runner and Asian Games bronze medallist, made history on Saturday by becoming the first Indian to complete a mile in under four minutes. Competing at the 24th Annual Music City Track Carnival in Cleveland, USA, he finished the Men's 1 Mile Pro event with a remarkable time of 3:55.63 seconds. This achievement places him ahead of American runners Christopher Knight and Tristan Trevino, who clocked 3:59.72 and 4:00.27 seconds, respectively. In addition to this milestone, Gulveer recently set a national record in the men's 5000m outdoor event, securing silver with a time of 13:03.93 seconds at the Sound Running Track Fest in Los Angeles. His personal best remains 12:59.77 seconds, achieved during an indoor competition. As he continues to excel, Gulveer is now focused on preparing for the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games in Japan, aiming to further enhance his athletic career.
