On Saturday, Siddaramaiah, the outgoing Chief Minister of Karnataka, engaged with citizens at his Kaveri residence, addressing public grievances just days after his resignation. He stepped down on Thursday at the suggestion of the Congress high command, paving the way for a leadership transition. Following his resignation, the Karnataka Congress is set to convene a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting in Bengaluru to deliberate on new leadership. This meeting, attended by party observers, will inform the high command's decisions on leadership and organizational matters. Siddaramaiah's resignation was accepted by Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who dissolved the Council of Ministers but requested Siddaramaiah to remain in office until a successor is appointed. DK Shivakumar, the Karnataka Congress president, emphasized that all nominations and appointments will be determined by the party leadership in New Delhi, indicating that the timeline for electing a new CLP leader remains uncertain.
