Chelsea Women will play all their Women’s Super League (WSL) home matches at Stamford Bridge starting in the 2026-2027 season. This decision, made after consultations with players and the fan advisory board, signifies a shift from their previous home at Kingsmeadow, which has a capacity of 4,580 and has been their base for nearly a decade. The last match played there was a 2-1 FA Cup victory against Tottenham Hotspur in April. Chelsea Women’s CEO Aki Mandhar emphasized that this move reflects their ambition to position Chelsea Women’s Football Club (CFCW) as a leading women's sports club globally. The club's financial statements reveal that Chelsea FC Holdings sold Kingsmeadow to CFCW for £12.1 million ($16.3 million), with the intention of giving the women's team equal footing within the club structure. Despite the transition, Kingsmeadow will still host women's academy games. However, the club faces challenges in scheduling, especially if both the men's and women's teams qualify for European competitions. The club is exploring alternative venues for non-league matches, as Kingsmeadow does not meet UEFA's requirements for hosting Champions League matches.
