Russell Ball and Ann Beaumont's £6,000 dream cruise turned into a stressful experience when British Airways (BA) lost their luggage at Heathrow Airport. After flying to Istanbul on May 15, they discovered their bags had not made the journey. Although BA located the luggage two days later, it arrived too late to catch the Oceania Allura cruise ship, which had already departed. The couple spent the next 10 days in the same clothes, relying on emergency purchases for essentials. Their luggage was finally reunited with them in Corfu. Throughout the ordeal, they spent hours on the phone with BA, who promised to forward their bags but failed to do so until they reached Corfu. The airline offered them free laundry services and discounts at the ship's shop, but the couple is now seeking compensation and has vowed never to fly with BA again. A BA spokesperson stated that the baggage system at Heathrow is operated by the airport and apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers.
