Dalbeattie Star and Stranraer Reserves are set to engage in an unprecedented series of three cup finals within ten days, a scenario described as a literal interpretation of the football saying 'every game is a cup final.' This remarkable series includes competitions for the Potts Cup, Cree Lodge Cup, and Tweedie Cup. The first match took place recently, where Stranraer secured a narrow 1-0 victory. The second final is scheduled for Friday, while the third and final showdown will occur on May 29. Richard Osborne, the league secretary, remarked on the rarity of such an occurrence, stating he has not witnessed similar back-to-back finals in his 14 years of service. The two clubs, both of which are among the strongest in the league, will each host one of the finals at their home grounds, with the third match taking place at a neutral location, Blairmount Park in Newton Stewart. This unique situation arises from a combination of the teams' quality and the impact of previous match cancellations.
