Operating under the alias Pooja Kinnar Guruma, Bhargava targeted individuals seeking help with marital and relationship issues. He created multiple fake profiles to gain victims' trust and lured them with promises of vashikaran and specialized rituals. Once contact was established via WhatsApp, he would request personal photographs under false pretenses. The investigation revealed that Bhargava recorded video calls where victims were coerced into undressing, using the footage to extort money. He successfully extorted ₹1,43,951 (approximately $1,700 USD) and had contacted nearly 300 different mobile numbers, defrauding over 65 victims. Currently in custody on a four-day remand, Bhargava's accomplices, Vikas Pokhraj Bhargava and Ravi Satyanarayan Bhargava, remain at large. The Cyber Crime Branch is further investigating the financial transactions linked to this extensive operation, which has been flagged in multiple cyber fraud complaints across various states.
