On average, the MVS treats around 1,000 animals daily, with a focus on critical cases such as calving complications in cows. Dr. P Srinivasu, director of the animal husbandry department, noted that timely treatment at the farmer's doorstep has been crucial in preventing many deaths. The initiative operates 275 MVS units across Karnataka, strategically positioned to reach farmers within 40 minutes of a request. Each unit is staffed with a veterinarian, a paraveterinarian, and a driver, equipped with essential diagnostic tools and medications. Additionally, a dedicated 24/7 call center and a centralized emergency command center enhance the service's efficiency, ensuring rapid response to veterinary emergencies.
