Alexandra Andrews' novel, The Fine Art of Lying, has been picked for adaptation into a television series by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, following its selection as Reese’s Book Club pick for May 2026. The story follows Clare Bast, who leaves her small-town life in Binghamton for the vibrant art world of Manhattan. After taking a break from her PhD to raise her child, Clare seeks to reclaim her identity. However, her quest for a lost masterpiece leads her into a murder investigation, with all evidence pointing to her. Clare must navigate the treacherous waters of the art scene to clear her name and protect her family. Andrews will serve as an executive producer alongside Scarlett Johansson's production company, These Pictures. Johansson's company has previously produced projects like the romantic-comedy-drama Fly Me to the Moon and is currently working on a series adaptation of The Nanny Diaries for Netflix. Andrews' debut novel, Who Is Maud Dixon?, garnered significant recognition, making several Top Books of the Year lists.
