The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has announced a tender worth ₹55.38 lakh to enhance road safety across nearly 150 identified accident-prone locations in Gurugram, Haryana, India. This initiative is particularly focused on areas near schools and major intersections, following recommendations from the district road safety committee (DRSC) and local traffic police. Planned improvements include the installation of 294 fixed railings, 120 advance direction boards, and 150 warning signboards, along with other safety measures such as road markings and speed-calming features. The tender, which is open for bids until May 19, 2023, aims to implement these upgrades in a phased manner, enhancing safety for schoolchildren and reducing congestion around educational institutions. The project was discussed in a recent DRSC meeting, emphasizing the need for urgent attention to road conditions, especially ahead of the monsoon season.
