Among them, Andrew Williamson has emerged as a standout prospect for the upcoming MLB Draft, potentially becoming the highest-selected UCF player since 2004. Williamson, who has a career slugging percentage of .590 and 34 home runs, has been recognized for his power and hitting skills. Coach Rich Wallace emphasized that Williamson's talent aligns with what major league teams seek. Additionally, Williamson is ranked 48th on MLB.com's Top 200 Draft prospects, with potential interest from teams like the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers. Another UCF player, Evan Jones, a relief pitcher, also caught Wallace's attention for his impressive velocity and slider. Although not ranked among top prospects, Jones had a solid season with a 4.11 ERA and four saves. The MLB Draft is set to take place from July 11 to July 13, 2026, and both players are expected to attract significant interest from scouts.
