The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Class 12 examination results for 2026 on May 12, 2026. This year, results will be available on multiple platforms, including the traditional results website (cbseresults.nic.in), DigiLocker, and the UMANG app, reflecting a major technological advancement in result dissemination. A record 18.5 lakh candidates participated in the exams, necessitating a complete overhaul of the evaluation process. For the first time, CBSE implemented a 100% on-screen marking (OSM) system, allowing teachers to evaluate scanned answer sheets online, which aims to reduce human error and enhance transparency. Despite the digital transformation, the complexity of evaluating such a large number of answer sheets caused a slight delay in result release compared to previous years. The overall pass percentage is anticipated to fall between 87% and 89%, returning to pre-pandemic standards. Notably, CBSE has discontinued the practice of publishing an official toppers list but continues to award Merit Certificates to the top 0.1% of students in each subject.
