On Monday, Congress party workers in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, organized a significant protest demanding justice for a NEET aspirant who allegedly faced a horrific 16-day ordeal of kidnapping, torture, and gang rape. The protest, led by the District and City Congress Committees, culminated in a memorandum submitted to the District Magistrate (DM). The memorandum calls for the immediate arrest of all twelve individuals involved in the crime, financial support for the victim, and stringent measures to enhance women's safety. Moradabad Congress Committee President Junaid Ikram Qureshi expressed outrage over the deteriorating law and order situation, emphasizing the need for severe punishment for the accused. While three suspects have been apprehended, the Congress party insists that the National Security Act (NSA) should be invoked against them and is prepared to escalate protests if justice is not served. The party's leaders are demanding exemplary punishment, including the death penalty, for the perpetrators to deter future crimes.
