Residents from three villages—Papapatti, Pagathevanpatti, and Peyampatti—in Madurai district, Tamil Nadu, have staged protests against the film 'Jana Nayagan,' expressing their dissatisfaction with its portrayal of local events. Villagers have raised black flags and gathered in public spaces, claiming that the film misrepresents a local by-election in Papapatti, damaging their community's reputation. They are demanding a formal apology from actor Vijay and director H. Vinoth, alongside calls for government intervention to remove objectionable scenes from the film. As of now, the filmmakers have not responded to these protests. Additionally, 'Jana Nayagan' faced issues with a recent online leak, leading its production house, KVN Productions LLP, to take legal action against the source of the leak. They have warned against the circulation of any leaked content and have made several arrests related to the case.
