The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the IPL 2026 final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad instead of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This decision was prompted by the Karnataka State Cricket Association's (KSCA) request for an excessive number of complimentary tickets, far exceeding the standard 15% allocation. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia revealed that the KSCA sought around 10,000 additional tickets for various stakeholders, including local Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and the Karnataka government. This unexpected demand left BCCI shocked, leading to the decision to relocate the final match, which is set for May 31, 2026. The playoff matches will take place at different venues, with Qualifier 1 scheduled for May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, and the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 on May 27 and May 29, respectively.
