Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced the renaming of several metro stations, hospitals, and public spaces to reflect the city's cultural identity and honor prominent figures in Indian history. Notably, Rohini West Metro Station will now be known as 'Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital Metro Station', emphasizing the legacy of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in promoting equality and justice. The under-construction sports complex in Begampur will be named 'Atal Khel Parisar' in tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, aiming to inspire the youth. Additionally, the Rohini East Metro Station will be simplified to 'Rohini Metro Station' for better commuter convenience. Other renaming initiatives include the new hospital in Jwalapuri as 'Baba Ramdevji Maharaj Hospital' and the renaming of Britannia Chowk to 'Ashwini Chopra (Minna) Chowk'. Gupta emphasized that these changes not only honor historical figures but also connect future generations to their cultural heritage.
