In a remarkable medical event, Amina, a woman from Ovari village in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, India, gave birth to four babies—two boys and two girls—over a span of five days at the Teerthanker Mahaveer University Hospital. The first child was born on May 9, followed by the other three on May 14. This case is notable as it marks the first instance of quadruplets being delivered through normal delivery at the hospital, despite the pregnancy being categorized as 'high-risk'. Dr. Shubhra Agrawal, who led the medical team, reported that all four newborns are currently on ventilator support for precautionary reasons, but their condition is stable. Amina, who is also in good health, was under specialized care throughout her pregnancy after ultrasound reports confirmed the presence of four fetuses. Although the medical team initially advised reducing the number of fetuses due to potential risks, the family chose to proceed with the pregnancy. Amina expressed gratitude towards the doctors for their exceptional care during this challenging period.
