This feature will be available on Android 12+ devices, initially starting with Pixel phones. As scammers increasingly spoof trusted contacts using AI technology, the new feature acts as a safeguard by verifying the authenticity of incoming calls. It functions automatically, sending a silent confirmation signal between devices when a contact calls. If the signal is missing, indicating a potential scam, users will receive a warning to hang up. This feature is built on Rich Communication Services (RCS), allowing for broader adoption by other apps and companies. Alongside this, Google announced additional updates including a virtual wardrobe feature in Google Photos, enabling users to try on outfits digitally, and a new 'Catch me up' feature in Google Play Books for recapping stories. These enhancements are part of Google's ongoing efforts to improve user experience across its platforms.
