Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the recruitment of 20,000 teachers to bolster basic education in the state, addressing the need for a better pupil-teacher ratio. This announcement was made during a ceremony honoring part-time instructors, whose honorarium was recently increased from ₹9,000 to ₹17,000. Currently, 24,296 instructors are employed across various educational disciplines in state-run schools. The CM highlighted significant improvements in education, noting that the dropout rate has plummeted from 18% to nearly 3%. Furthermore, he emphasized the government's commitment to social security for educators, mentioning benefits like maternity leave for women instructors and cashless health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh. The government is also focused on upgrading facilities in schools and has initiated programs like Atal Residential Schools for children of laborers and orphans from the COVID-19 pandemic. Yogi Adityanath reiterated the importance of identifying and nurturing children's innate talents to ensure a brighter future for the state.
