The Ticket Checking Section at New Jalpaiguri (NJP), part of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), achieved a remarkable milestone by earning over ₹2.08 crore in May 2026. This figure represents the highest monthly ticket-checking revenue recorded by any section within NFR. Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the Chief Public Relations Officer of NFR, emphasized that this accomplishment showcases the dedication and professionalism of the ticket checking staff in preventing ticketless travel and safeguarding railway revenue. The impressive performance was driven by sustained ticket-checking drives and teamwork, with an average daily earning exceeding ₹6.54 lakh and a peak earning of more than ₹9.65 lakh on May 9. General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and senior officials commended the NJP ticket-checking team for their efforts, which reflect a commitment to transparency and accountability.
