With the team managing only one victory out of five home matches, Badani noted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) oversees pitch conditions, leaving teams without control over the surfaces they play on. He remarked on the stark contrasts in pitch behavior, recalling a recent match where DC scored just 75 runs after previously encountering a pitch that allowed for a high-scoring game of 265 runs. Badani acknowledged the struggles of players like left-arm wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav, who has been underperforming this season with an economy rate exceeding ten runs per over. Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence in his players, including Axar Patel, and emphasized the importance of consistency in pitch conditions to enhance the team's performance.
