Google is set to enhance Google Photos with an innovative AI-powered outfit planner, allowing users to transform their personal photo libraries into a digital wardrobe. Inspired by the iconic 1995 film 'Clueless,' where the character Cher Horowitz utilized a computerized closet, this new feature will automatically scan and organize clothing items from users' photos, including tops, bottoms, and accessories. Users can browse their digital closet by category, mix and match items, and create new looks. Additionally, the tool will suggest outfits for different occasions, which can be stored in a digital moodboard and shared with friends. A notable aspect of this feature is the virtual try-on capability, enabling users to visualize outfits before wearing them. Although the feature is not yet live, Google plans to roll it out on Android devices later this summer, with iOS support to follow. If successful, this tool could bring a long-desired element of movie magic into everyday life without the need for a designer wardrobe.
