The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially refuted claims circulating on social media regarding an aircraft crash near Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir, labeling the reports as false. An IAF spokesperson urged media outlets to confirm information with official sources before dissemination. In a related development, the IAF activated an Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, on April 22. This operation showcased the IAF's readiness and operational versatility, involving a range of aircraft including the Jaguar, Mirage-2000, Sukhoi-30 MKI, C-295, and AN-32, as well as Mi-17 V5 helicopters. The exercise was attended by UP State Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar and Air Marshal B Manikantan, among others. The activation of ELF is a significant enhancement to the IAF's operational flexibility, allowing for unhindered operations even without standard runways, thereby reinforcing national security and disaster response capabilities.
