On April 20, 2023, the Whiteford High School baseball and softball teams showcased their pitching prowess with dominant performances against Morenci. The baseball team swept the games with scores of 14-0 and 17-3, featuring a no-hitter by Caden Schroyer in the first match. Schroyer not only excelled on the mound but also contributed offensively with three hits. The softball team mirrored this success, winning both games 10-0, with Peyton Welch striking out 15 batters in the first game and freshman Macy Ovall throwing a no-hitter in the second. Other notable performances included Sierra Daniels from Monroe, who drove in six runs in her team's sweep of Ann Arbor Skyline, and the Bedford boys track team, which secured a 72-65 victory over Ann Arbor Pioneer with multiple athletes winning their events. The Whiteford teams are now showing promising starts to their seasons, with the baseball team at 5-2 and the softball team at 7-2.
