Kenneth Iwamasa, who served as the personal assistant to the late actor Matthew Perry, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for his involvement in the actor's death due to a ketamine overdose. Hired in 2022 for $150,000 a year, Iwamasa was deeply integrated into Perry's daily life and struggles with addiction. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death and serious bodily injury. Prosecutors claimed that on the day Perry died, Iwamasa administered multiple injections of ketamine, including a significant dose shortly before leaving Perry alone. Upon returning, he found Perry unresponsive in a hot tub. The autopsy indicated that Perry's death was caused by acute ketamine effects combined with drowning.
