The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has issued a warning regarding the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant after Russia accused Ukrainian forces of conducting a drone attack on the facility. The IAEA reported that a drone struck a turbine building, creating a hole in its wall. Director General Rafael Grossi expressed serious concern over the incident, citing the potential threat to nuclear safety and the principles protecting the plant. Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces refuted the allegations, labeling them as an act of nuclear terrorism by Russia, which has controlled the plant since early 2022. They stated that Russia is using the facility for military purposes and accused it of violating safety protocols. The Ukrainian military emphasized that it operates within international humanitarian law and does not possess the means to execute such an attack.
