Yaseen Khan, who previously served as a bodyguard for Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, has addressed the misconception that celebrity bodyguards earn exorbitant salaries, often cited as ₹2-2.5 crore (approximately $240,000 to $300,000) annually. In a recent discussion, he explained that such figures are exaggerated and do not reflect the reality of their compensation. Most bodyguards receive a fixed monthly salary, with additional earnings coming from separate agreements related to film projects or advertising assignments. Yaseen noted that social media often amplifies unrealistic salary claims, creating a distorted view of the profession.

Reflecting on his early career, Yaseen shared that bodyguards were not initially included in the list of crew members compensated by film producers. He took the initiative to advocate for fair pay, leading to a gradual change in the industry. As a result, additional payments for bodyguards during film shoots and promotional events became more common. Despite these improvements, Yaseen remains skeptical about high salary claims, emphasizing that they are exceptions rather than the norm. After over a decade in the role, he transitioned to entrepreneurship, founding YK PROSEC, a private security firm in Mumbai that provides VIP protection and event management services.
