Vihaan Jain from Haryana emerged victorious at the IGU Southern India Junior Boys Golf Championship held at the Coimbatore Golf Club, securing his title with a total score of 300 after four rounds. The 16-year-old golfer faced a challenging final round, carding a five-over 77. Despite starting strong with a four-stroke lead, Jain struggled early on with four bogeys on the front nine, allowing Nilofer Sivamoorthy from Tamil Nadu to catch up. However, Jain's impressive putting skills shone through as he made crucial par saves, including a 22-foot putt on the 14th hole and a 12-footer on the 17th, which helped him regain and maintain his lead. Sivamoorthy finished with a score of 75, two shots behind Jain. In the Category 'B' division, Chaitanya Pandey from Delhi also claimed his second consecutive title, finishing with a total score of 308. The tournament showcased emerging golfing talent in India, highlighting the competitive spirit among young athletes.
