A total of 1,559 public school teachers and school heads from the Caraga Region in the Philippines were sworn in under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) Program on May 24, 2026, at the Agusan Valley Convention Center in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. The event, attended by Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., signifies a key initiative from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure that no teacher retires at the entry-level rank of Teacher I. The program highlights the dedication of educators and aims to provide them with career advancement opportunities. Notably, 23 of the region's longest-serving teachers were promoted, including one with 39 years of service. Additionally, 91 teachers aged 55 to 64 received promotions from Teacher I positions. The government also announced the creation of 32,916 new teaching positions and increased vacation service credits for teachers. Financial assistance totaling Php62.8 million was distributed to support local community initiatives.
