Emergency services were deployed to the Mozo Wonder City shopping complex in Nishi Ward, Nagoya City, Japan, on June 8 after reports of individuals experiencing eye and throat discomfort. A security guard alerted authorities around 5:30 PM, leading to the hospitalization of six individuals with mild symptoms, including a woman in her 40s and a girl under 10. In total, 16 people, ranging from infants to those in their 40s, reported symptoms such as coughing and sore throats. Witnesses described a sudden onset of discomfort upon entering the arcade area, prompting many to leave the premises. The fire department has cordoned off part of the fourth floor for further investigation, but so far, no toxic gases or smoke have been detected. Mozo Wonder City is a major shopping and entertainment hub, located approximately 500 meters from Kami-Otai Station, and features various facilities including cinemas and retail shops, making it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.
