On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh faced an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring well above normal across the state. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature reached 42.5°C, which is 3.4°C higher than the seasonal average. The India Meteorological Department reported that Prayagraj was the hottest, with a temperature of 45.2°C, exceeding normal levels by 4.6°C. Other cities like Varanasi, Banda, and Agra also recorded high temperatures ranging from 44°C to 44.3°C. While Najibabad and Muzaffarnagar experienced slightly lower temperatures below 40°C, the overall forecast indicates dry weather and continued heatwave conditions. The Met department has predicted that Lucknow will see maximum temperatures around 43°C and minimums at 26°C on Saturday, with similar conditions expected to persist into the following week.
