As of May 14, 2026, Karnataka has successfully mapped 4.79 crore electors, representing 86.37% of the state's total 5.55 crore voters, in an ongoing electoral roll family-linkage exercise. This initiative aims to improve the accuracy of voter rolls by linking electors through family data and identifying eligible new voters who have reached voting age. Among the districts, Kodagu has achieved the highest mapping rate at 95.53%, followed closely by Mandya at 95.43%. In contrast, Bengaluru's urban areas are lagging behind, with only 75.10% of electors mapped, attributed to challenges such as high population density and migration. The Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka, V. Anbu Kumar, confirmed that the mapping process will continue until two days before the draft roll is published, indicating a commitment to ensuring comprehensive voter registration.
