Lydia-May Green, a 30-year-old nurse from Llanharan, Wales, has been sentenced to 28 months in prison for engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a psychiatric patient. The affair lasted for eight months and included explicit videos and hotel visits. The patient, who suffers from autism, ADHD, and schizoaffective disorder, was significantly impacted by the relationship, which was described in court as potentially causing 'substantial psychological harm'. Green began her relationship with the patient while working at the hospital where he was receiving treatment, and they exchanged affectionate messages over social media. Despite acknowledging the inappropriate nature of her actions, Green's defense argued that the relationship was consensual and not coercive. However, the court emphasized the serious implications of her conduct, leading to her conviction on seven charges of engaging in sexual activity with a person with a mental disorder.
