Leigh Leopards have announced the appointment of Andrew Henderson as their new director of rugby. The 46-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as head coach and later as director of rugby at York Knights. In his new role, Henderson will be responsible for overseeing all rugby operations, which includes first-team performance, recruitment strategy, pathway development, and long-term planning. He takes over from Chris Chester, who left to join Castleford Tigers last year. Henderson expressed his excitement about joining Leigh, stating, "Leigh is a club with a proud history, a passionate fanbase, and an ambition that truly resonates with me." He also thanked York chairman Clint Goodchild for his support during the transition, highlighting his commitment to strengthening the club both on and off the field as it moves towards the Super League.
