In Gurugram, traffic police have imposed a temporary ban on heavy and large commercial vehicles along a stretch of the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway (NH-48) in Manesar due to construction work on a flyover. The restrictions will apply daily from 9 am to 9 pm on a nearly six-kilometer stretch between Panchgaon Chowk and Industrial Model Township (IMT) Chowk. This decision follows recent traffic congestion caused by heavy vehicles traveling from Jaipur to Delhi. To mitigate the impact, heavy and light commercial vehicles will be diverted at Bilaspur towards Pataudi Road and Farrukh Nagar via the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway. Traffic police have increased enforcement to ensure compliance, with penalties for violators. Notably, emergency services such as ambulances and police vehicles are exempt from these restrictions. The no-entry provisions will remain in effect until further notice, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) targeting completion of the flyover by June 2024.
