Chandrakant Patil, Maharashtra's higher and technical education minister, stated that the Yuva Sangam initiative under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme is crucial for fostering national integration. Speaking at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, he welcomed a delegation of approximately 50 undergraduate and postgraduate students from Andhra Pradesh, who are visiting Maharashtra from June 4 to 9 as part of the cultural exchange program. The Yuva Sangam initiative, launched in 2023, promotes understanding of cultural, historical, and developmental strengths among states. Patil highlighted significant cultural traditions, including the Warkari pilgrimage to Pandharpur and the contributions of historical figures such as Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Additionally, he noted the state's commitment to education, particularly for girls, resulting in a notable increase in enrolment. Minister of State Madhuri Misal also emphasized Maharashtra's historical ties with Andhra Pradesh and its status as a major employment hub, attracting substantial investments.
