Bihar's Chief Secretary, Pratyaya Amrit, chaired a high-level meeting on April 16 to review the preparations for the self-enumeration phase of the Census, which will take place from April 17 to May 1. This initial phase is crucial for the upcoming House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) scheduled from May 2 to May 31. Amrit highlighted the Census as a task of national significance, urging district magistrates and senior officials to ensure adherence to the guidelines set by the central government. He instructed officials to compile a list of influential local figures to encourage community participation and mandated that all departmental staff complete their self-enumeration promptly. The Chief Secretary also stressed the importance of an effective public awareness campaign to boost citizen involvement. Training sessions for enumerators and supervisors are ongoing, and he called for the swift completion of House Listing Blocks on the Census Management and Monitoring System portal.
