The FWICE claimed that Ranveer had failed to respond to multiple requests to discuss the matter, which was brought to their attention by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. Akhtar's complaint highlighted concerns over financial losses amounting to approximately ₹45 crores (roughly $5.4 million USD) incurred in pre-production. In response to the directive, Ranveer's spokesperson emphasized the actor's respect for the film industry and his decision to maintain silence to handle the situation with dignity.
