Airbnb has leased a substantial 46,437 square feet of office space in DLF Cyber City, Gurugram, for its global capability centre (GCC) for a duration of five years. The lease, which commenced on October 1, 2025, carries a starting monthly rent of approximately ₹61.53 lakh (around $74,000 USD), translating to ₹132.5 per square foot. A security deposit of ₹5.54 crore (about $670,000 USD) was paid, and the lease includes a 5% escalation clause. This strategic move reflects Airbnb's commitment to invest in India, a rapidly growing market characterized by an expanding middle class and a travel-enthusiastic Gen Z. Raja Seetharaman, co-founder of Propstack, highlighted that this expansion signifies the strong momentum in India's commercial real estate sector, with GCCs evolving into key drivers of premium leasing. Recent data indicates that GCCs dominated office leasing in India during the first quarter of 2026, contributing 9.1 million square feet, or 44% of the total absorption of 20.7 million square feet during that period, showcasing the robust demand for high-quality office spaces in major cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
