In preparation for the civic body polls held on May 26, the Mohali district administration has set up eight counting centres across the district. Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Komal Mittal announced that the counting of votes will begin at 8 am on May 29, with a rehearsal scheduled for May 28 at 10 am. Each municipal council has a designated counting location: Banur municipal council will count votes at the market committee office, while Kurali municipal council's counting will occur at the community hall of its municipal office. Nayagaon municipal council votes will be counted at Century Public School in Karoran, and Zirakpur municipal council will use the Community Centre in Chatt. Dera Bassi's counting will take place at Government College, Dera Bassi, and Lalru municipal council will count at Government Senior Secondary School, Lalru. The Mohali municipal corporation will have two counting locations based on ward divisions. Mittal emphasized that the counting process will be under CCTV surveillance and that only authorized personnel will be permitted entry. She also instructed district police to maintain order around the centres and urged candidates to appoint counting agents with valid identification.
