The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced a ₹975 crore budget for the 2026-27 financial year, focusing on modernizing urban infrastructure and enhancing public services in Agartala, Tripura. Mayor Dipak Majumder highlighted that the budget anticipates total receipts of ₹974.93 crore against expenditures of ₹975.91 crore, resulting in a slight deficit of ₹97.67 lakh, which AMC plans to address through increased internal revenue generation. Key initiatives include establishing Tripura's first paperless Civil Hospital, aimed at reducing patient load on existing facilities and providing evening consultations. The budget also proposes a ₹100 crore municipal bond issue to finance long-term urban development projects. Traffic management is prioritized, with plans for multipurpose parking zones to ease congestion. Furthermore, funds have been allocated for mosquito control and the modernization of four major city markets to improve infrastructure and services for traders and consumers.
